St Mawes, Cornwall
Navigating your way into winter
We invite you to join us for our 4-day, 4-night retreat from Wednesday 4 October eve to Sunday 8th October at 2pm. The opening ceremony will commence early Thursday morn.
OUR RETREAT SPACE
Penolva meaning “lookout on the headland” occupies a world-class setting, neighbouring St Mawes Castle with 180-degree magnificent sea views. Built in the early 1960’s by Dick Wilkins, a personal friend of the Queen Mother, she would often visit, coming ashore from H.M.Y Brittania via the slipway originally built for her visits. Newly renovated and decorated, the house and its large grounds and terraces are suffused with sparkling light whilst offering complete privacy and seclusion. An ideal setting for a quiet retreat.
OUR RETREAT INTENTION
We invite you to join us for this exciting opportunity to explore, navigate and connect with your mind/body/spirit before slipping into the more introverted season that lies ahead. Through creativity, yoga, meditation, ceremony, and healing we intend to solidify healthy habits and rituals and prepare solid foundations before journeying into winter.

Pleuni Van Hulten – Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga teacher
As a dancer and a choreographer Pleuni discovered yoga early in her life. A few years ago she left the Netherlands to travel the world teaching Scaravelli inspired Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga. She also leads mantra chanting circles with her lovely shruti box, an instrument that is similar to an harmonium and provides a drone to support the mantra. Singing the ancient words helps to reach a deep state of meditation. In her vinyasa classes we explore the bodies natural way of moving and we try to find a lightness in the practice. Her Yin yoga create a safe meditative space to open up and work through physical and emotional blockages in the body.
Jemma Foster – Herbalist/Medicinal Chef
Jemma’s entry into the healing arts came as a writer with an interest in quantum physics and the energetics of our world. For the past five years she has been exploring the realms of shamanism, herbalism, medicinal foods and wildcrafting.
